EMPIRE Marina Bobbin Head has been awarded the highest rating of 5 Gold Anchors under the Marina Industries Association of Australia International Rating System for Marinas.
The marina was presented with it's rating at a ceremony attended by the Chief Executive of the Marina Industries Association of Australia (MIAA) and senior representatives of the Department of Environment and Climate Change.
The rating system is designed to provide boat owners and marina users with an easy reference system similar to the Hotel Association's star rating scheme. Marinas utilising the new rating system are independently assessed against a specialised points-based criteria covering more than 96 different elements of marina facilities and services.
The rating criteria covers areas relevant to consumers including marina design, infrastructure and condition, services offered, environmental considerations, land facilities, food and beverage facilities, local attractions, enquiry processes, booking process simplicity and marketing.
The marina was one of only two in Australia to have been awarded 5 Gold Anchors under this scheme. Darren Vaux, Director of Empire Marinas, is very pleased with the result.
"It is very satisfying that the marina has been rated at the top of the market from a consumers' point of view.
It is a credit to the marina staff that they consistently deliver the highest level of service to our valued customers, and the continuous validation under the scheme will impose the discipline on us to keep us at the top of the game"
As part of the scheme, the MIAA have developed a website,
www.goldanchor.net which will house details on the scheme and a directory of Gold Anchor rated marinas.
